Tennessee offers job to Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt

The nearly comically long and twisting road to finding a new Tennessee football coach may finally end tomorrow.

Pruitt would become the fifth different head coach at Tennessee in the past 11 years. Since Jones was ousted, the Volunteers have been linked with several candidates and appeared in line to appoint Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. That is, unless Tennessee fans rage again and the administration backs out. Pruitt also was the defensive coordinator at Florida State on the Seminoles' 2013 national championship team, and he was the defensive coordinator at Georgia under Mark Richt for the 2014 and 2015 seasons, before returning to his alma mater. The Vols also haven't won 10 games since 2007.

Pruitt?also is regarded as one of the top recruiters in the SEC. Last year, Pruitt's defense led the nation in scoring defense, giving up just 13 points per game.

Five days after being named the university's athletic director, Phillip Fulmer zeroed in on the longtime defensive coach and current Alabama defensive coordinator as the Vols coach, along with interviewing Auburn's defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker. Before that he was defensive backs coach from 2010-12 at Alabama. He's someone Nick Saban really counts on to help set the tone in development and recruiting. That was his first job in major college football after spending the previous seven years as a high school assistant coach.

'Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris' locks base-game content behind a paywall
What's ironic is that many hardcore Destiny players have been calling for a lower time-to-kill (TTK) in PvP. A new Exotic weapon in Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris expansion is extremely powerful thanks to a bug.

Keep in mind Pruitt had to replace Marlon Humphrey, Reuben Foster, Ryan Anderson, Jonathan Allen, Tim Williams and Eddie Jackson, all of whom were selected in the 2017 National Football League draft.

Fulmer, the legendary former Vols head coach, was hired as AD.

This would be at least the second meeting with Pruitt, according to GoVols247. Dooley coached with Saban at LSU and with the Miami Dolphins. He has yet to be a head coach at the college level, so there's obviously the question as to whether he can succeed in the role.
