Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou Set For UFC 220 on January 20

The expected heavyweight title fight between champion Stipe Miocic and No. 1 contender Francis Ngannou is being targeted for the event, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. With her unanimous decision win, the new UFC champion makes her top-10 debut at No. 7, while Modafferi falls four spots to eighth.

With Miocic Vs Ngannou on-board, UFC 220 is now shaping up nicely with two title fights on-board as a light-heavyweight championship encounter between Daniel Cormier and Volkan Oezdemir also features on the first pay-per-view card of 2018. The heavyweight champ last fought at UFC 211 in May. In his last bout, he stiffened Alistair Overeem in the first round with a thunderous left hand. Ngannou (11-1), however, has been active, stopped every fighter put in front of him, and is every opponent's nightmare: big, strong, fast, and hits like a Mack truck.
