Sergio Ramos responds to rumours about his relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane (pix) warned Cristiano Ronaldo's critics not to write-off the Portuguese, who is expected to pick up his fifth Ballon d'Or this week.

Ramos and Ronaldo have since reportedly had a difference of opinion over the way the Spanish giants are heading, although the skipper has been quick to brush aside such talk.

And speaking at a news conference ahead of Wednesday's final Group H game at home to Borussia Dortmund, with his team having qualified, Zidane said: "I repeat myself a lot, say the same thing every three days, and even I get exhausted of it. Be careful with Cristiano".

The champions have found it more hard than usual to break down opposing defences this season, with the lack of goalscoring form of all their top dogs, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Bemzema, raising eyebrows.

Until September, Zidane's men had scored in 73 straight games.

"It is true that we need to score more goals because, being eight points behind in La Liga, the situation isn't ideal", added Zidane.
