Sen. John McCain hospitalized for cancer treatment side effects

During a visit to The View on Wednesday to promote his new memoir, Promise Me, Dad, which centers around Beau's cancer fight, Biden comforted John's daughter and View cohost Meghan McCain in a very emotional moment. McCain told Biden that she couldn't get through the part of his book, "Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and goal", which covered his son, Beau Biden's, struggle with brain cancer.

Senator John McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2017; a tumor was discovered after McCain underwent a minor surgical procedure to remove a blood clot from above his left eye.

Sen. McCain and Biden are former colleagues in the U.S Senate and were great friends. And I mean this sincerely, I know that if I picked up the phone tonight and called John McCain and said 'John, I'm at Second and Vine in Oshkosh and I need your help.

"I think about Beau nearly every day", McCain tells Biden through tears.

Others think that he’ll continue to use the picks himself and construct a young core that can emerge after the Cavaliers vs. Fultz is an ideal scoring guard to run alongside him, and can also take over point guard duties if the Simmons experiment fails.

Mr Biden was quick to embrace her and said, "one of the things that gave Beau courage. was John". "There is hope. And if anybody can make it, your dad [can]".

"Her dad goes after me hammer and tong", Biden told the audience. He even recalled a time that McCain told him to "get the hell off" the ticket in 2008. "If in a year from now, if we're ready and no one has moved in that I think can do it, then I may very well do it, but I'm being as honest as I can". Throughout his final year as vice president, Biden directed much of his attention towards advancing a so-called "moonshot", an effort at finding new cures and treatments for cancer in memory of his late son. "You have to have hope".

"There is hope", Biden said. I swear guys, we are going to beat this d***ed disease.

Meghan McCain thanked Biden later, tweeting she had no words to convey her "immense gratitude".
