Roger Goodell Signs Extension To Remain NFL Commissioner

Roger Goodell has signed a contract extension to remain the commissioner of the NFL, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

The Compensation Committee received unanimous authorization from the owners in May 2017 to execute the contract.

Accordingly, this will advise the ownership that a binding contract extension has been signed by the Commissioner and by Arthur Blank, on behalf of the League entities.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has confirmed that Goodell has been given a new deal by the NFL's Compensation Committee.

The tedious drama over Roger Goodell's contract is over.

Amazon Prime Video comes to Apple TV at last
Apple TV users have always been demanding the app, but the unstable relationship between the two companies delayed the process. Some have already speculated that Amazon will start selling Apple TVs on its site again. "And they're going to return it".

Negotiations dragged on for months amid reports that Jones opposed the proposed structure of Goodell's contract extension. It was particularly gratifying to hear so many owners commit to being more engaged in League affairs and to express the desire to work more closely with the Commissioner and League staff on matters critical to the League.

Goodell has overseen significant revenue growth for the National Football League but has also been the subject of major scrutiny in recent years for his handling of sensitive issues such as domestic violence and concussions.

Goodell's salary was about $32 million in 2015, the past year for which compensation for top league officials was made available in a tax filing.

With the league meeting set to basically be held in Jones' backyard, it is somewhat surprising that the Compensation Committee made a decision to execute the deal before December 13.

The position has been a lucrative one for Goodell, who has earned more than $200 million since 2006, according to ESPN.
