Rep. Cummings: Flynn Whistleblower a 'Very Credible' Witness

House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) showed no interest Wednesday in further investigating claims a whistleblower brought to the committee's Democrats about promises former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn allegedly made to a business associate about gutting Russian Federation sanctions that been hindering the associate's business project.

Cummings did not identify the witness, whom he described as a whistleblower.

Minutes into Trump's inauguration speech, Flynn also texted the ex-partner, who wanted to work with Russian Federation to build nuclear reactors across the Middle East, that the plan, threatened by Obama's sanctions, was "good to go". A lawyer for Mr. Flynn declined to comment.

Mr. Cummings said Mr. Gowdy should subpoena the White House and the Flynn Intelligence Group, Mr. Flynn's former company, for documents that the House committee had requested in March but had not yet been provided. "And if he wants to write me letters so you can ask me about it, and write a story, that's his prerogative, but the answer won't change". The administration has not lifted sanctions on Russian Federation.

Flynn pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his discussions with the Russian ambassador about sanctions during the transition.

Flynn, who pleaded guilty Friday to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, did consulting work with the form as part of a deal to build nuclear reactors across the middle east. He said the witness said Copson showed him texts on his phone that Copson said were from Flynn, but that the witness didn't read them and later took notes on their conversation.

Australia Passes Marriage Equality in Landslide Vote
The laws, which will also recognise same-sex marriages carried out in foreign countries, take effect from Saturday. Prime Minister Turnbull campaigned in 2015 on the promise of having a revisitation of Australia's marriage laws.

According to the whistleblower, Copson said, "Mike has been putting everything in place for us". Mr. Copson confirmed in a letter to me on June 27, 2017, that his company paid the expenses for a trip General Flynn made to the Middle East in June 2015 to promote his project and provided a $25,000 check to compensate him for the "loss of income and business opportunities resulting from this trip".

Cumming also noted the congressional probe into Hillary Clinton's role in an Obama-era Uranium One deal that Gowdy is spearheading- a probe that was recently announced after Republicans said they had found a new informant.

"Although this individual was extremely hesitant to come forward - and still fears retaliation - the whistleblower has chose to do so now because this individual feels duty bound as a citizen to make this disclosure", he wrote.

Cummings said the individual contacted his office and authorized him to make his account, but not his name, public.

The Wall Street Journal reported in September that while in the White House Flynn promoted a project that would involve building dozens of nuclear plants around the Middle East.

The whistleblower told House Democrats that while Trump spoke at his inauguration, Flynn texted from his seat on the Capitol steps to Alex Copson, the managing director of ACU Strategic Partners and the nuclear project's main promoter. ACU funded the travel, which Flynn failed to disclose on his security clearance renewal application in 2016 and to background check investigators.
