Nets trade for Jahlil Okafor, reports say

Okafor is being traded to the Brooklyn Nets, reports ESPN's Zach Lowe.

Multiple media outlets reported Thursday afternoon that the 76ers and Brooklyn Nets agreed to a trade that sends Okafor, shooting guard Nik Stauskas and a second-round pick to the Nets. In 105 career games, Okafor is averaging 14.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. The Knicks second round pick adds to it's coffers (a Sam Hinkie term) in 2019 where the team will finally have the rights to it's own first round pick for the first time since 2015, which was also a wasted draft pick.

Once again, the Nets have picked up a talented player while giving up little.

Okafor fell victim to a numbers game over the past year, slipping behind a healthy Joel Embiid, Richaun Holmes and even Amir Johnson this season.

Okafor played just two games for the Sixers this season.

Democrats will enter the White House meeting knowing their support is crucial to Senate Republicans passing any spending bills. Some Republicans want a large boost in the defense cap, and Democrats are demanding an equal increase in non-defense spending.

"I know it's business, but in my eyes, I don't know if it's good business".

The 21-year-old appeared in just two games this season, totaling 10 points and nine rebounds in 25 minutes.

When looking at all of the drama behind the center expressing his frustration by still being on the team without receiving playing time, a fresh start for Okafor was best for both parties.

The Boston Celtics were nearly always mentioned in rumored deals for Okafor (then again, which rumors weren't they mentioned in the last few years?), and in a way, Thursday's trade will likely make Boston fans smile just a little bit.
