LaVar Ball: Withdrawing suspended son to prepare for National Basketball Association

NCAA president Mark Emmert is under fire for comments made during a conference about whether or not LiAngelo Ball should have been at UCLA at all before his father pulled him from the school. Arturs Stalbergs, head coach of the Lithuanian basketball team KK Lietkabelis Panevezys, offered a job for the Balls, although it likely wasn't one LaVar had in mind.

While speaking at the 2017 SportsBusiness Journal Intercollegiate Athletics Forum, Emmert was asked about LaVar Ball's decision to pull his middle son LiAngelo out of UCLA this week.

LiAngelo Ball, along with fellow freshmen Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, are now serving indefinite suspensions for their participation in a shoplifting incident during the Bruins' trip to China last month.

Trump tweeted after the three players returned to the US, taking the credit for their safe return and taking shots at Ball for being ungrateful.

"How you carry yourself at 17 and 18, I think they know what's right and wrong".

Alford noted since returning to the United States, Ball has been a model citizen at school.

But Dortmund, like Atletico and Napoli , was bad in the Champions League play, only registering two points via draws with APOEL. Everton, though, failed to reach the group stages, losing in controversial fashion to Villarreal in the third qualifying phase.

LiAngelo Ball, left, was among three UCLA basketball players arrested on suspicion of shoplifting in Hangzhou, China.

And after LaMelo was pulled out of Chino Hills High earlier this year by LaVar, it seems that the next step for the younger Ball brothers is to play in Europe to get them ready for the National Basketball Association. They had what he called the "most complete game" of the season Sunday against Detroit Mercy, a 33-point shellacking in which the Bruins equaled a season-high in points.

"We are exploring other options with Gelo", LaVar Ball said on Monday. "They didn't tell me anything, so why am I gonna tell them?" "We respect the decision he and his family have made, and we wish him all the best in the future". In fact, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith sounded off on Ball during a Tuesday morning rant on ESPN's First Take. "I just want to play, period".

"We get back over here, and the consequences were even stiffer than China".

Riley and Hill are still communicating with the UCLA coaching staff, Alford said, as they focus on academics while waiting out their indefinite suspensions.

The university disciplinary process via the office of student conduct is ongoing, Alford said Tuesday, adding that he didn't have a timeline for when it would be finished.
