ISIS Weapons Traced to USA and Saudi Arabia

ISIS Weapons Traced to USA and Saudi Arabia

"Evidence collected by vehicle indicates that the United States has repeatedly diverted EU-manufactured weapons and ammunition to opposition forces in the Syrian conflict".

Conflict Armament Research (CAR) said most Islamic State weapons were looted from the Iraqi and Syrian armies.

"In particular, the impact of the group's acquisition of anti-armour weapons on
its operational capacity is hard to quantify,
but these weapons continue to pose a significant threat to coalition armoured forces", the group continues.

It has always been known that ISIS captured a huge amount of American weapons -including tanks and artillery - when the militant group swept into Iraq from Syria in 2014 and routed several divisions of Iraqi soldiers, many who abandoned their weapons and fled.

Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, former Warsaw Pact states - which are now members of the European Union - manufactured 30 percent of the weapons and 20 percent of the ammunition recovered by vehicle.

Trump reportedly tells CDC: You can't use these 7 words
On the list: " diversity ", " fetus ", " transgender ", " vulnerable ", " entitlement ", " science-based " and "evidence-based". Analysts were reportedly "incredulous" upon being briefed on the banned words. "This hasn't trickled down to them yet".

The report's authors concluded that "the main drivers of illicit weapons supplies are not the companies and states that manufacture weapons, but the governments and entities that acquire weapons lawfully and subsequently divert them to unauthorised users". Most of these items later ended up in Iraq, the monitor said. "[ISIS] forces rapidly gained custody of significant quantities of this materiel". The data shows that deadly arms can often end up in the wrong hands. The reports also note that deliberate attempts have been made by supplier parties to hide the weapons' provenance by removing or scratching off the manufacturer or batch information.

Some of the weapons that were eventually diverted to ISIS were originally provided by the USA and Saudi Arabia to Syrian opposition forces over the course of the conflict, adds the study by the arms-monitoring group. The study was funded by the European Union and German government.

The study further adds to the array of evidence, pointing towards the role of the USA and its allies in fuelling the Syrian conflict by the United States and its allies, according to reports.

A July 2017study by the pro-opposition Century Foundation called it a "weapons farm for larger Islamist and jihadist factions, including Syria's al-Qaeda affiliate".

While most weapons in Isis' arsenal were captured from the Syrian and Iraqi armies, Conflict Armament Research (CAR)'s report, published on Thursday, found that the number of U.S. and Saudi supplied weapons in Isis' arsenal goes "far beyond those that would have been available through battle capture alone".
