Cleveland Browns fire VP Sashi Brown

Winless with four weeks left in another dismal season, the Cleveland Browns fired Brown on Thursday, jettisoning their top football executive who was unable to improve the volatile franchise enough to satisfy owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam. He was sacked on Thursday.

Brown, who joined the organization as an executive VP and general counsel in January 2013, was promoted three years later, after the organization fired general manager Ray Farmer and head coach Mike Pettine. While it might seem like a short period of time, it was filled with tons of roster moves that helped shape what the team is today, as well as what it might be in the future. The move comes as the Browns haven't won a game since last December. But he does leave Cleveland with some successes. This is a performance-based business, and I get it.

"I don't look at it as a power struggle", Jackson said. At the same time, I don't think it all should go toward him.

"Sashi is a good person", Jackson said.

"I know one thing (Haslam) really, truly wants is collaboration, people working together - not that anybody wasn't", Jackson said. He gutted Cleveland's roster, electing not to re-sign some of the team's own free agents in favor of signing younger players and acquiring future draft picks.

North Korea's rocket test in September reportedly also led Scandinavian and Swiss Airlines to re-route their flights into Japan. Federal regulation from 1997 prohibits all US airlines from flying over the Flight Information Region of Pyongyang.

It will now be interesting to see if Dorsey indeed winds up being hired to replace Brown in Cleveland and if he has any issues with Jackson remaining the team's heads coach. "They're being developed right now and it's important for them to have a single voice from a head coach and a single voice from their position coach molding them into National Football League players". I'm not sure what the firing says about the plan. He said he did not know if Brown was sacked because the plan to build for the future wasn't working fast enough or because of a personality conflict with Jackson. "Sometimes it was personality related".

Cornerback Jason McCourty had no opinion.

The right call was made on Brown.

In the end, a franchise quarterback was never found.

. "There is definitely not certainty".

"I love Hue", Bitonio said. In announcing his dismissal, Jimmy Haslam said Brown was told the team "is going in a new direction".
