Amazon Prime Launches In Singapore, Subscription Starts From $2.99/Month

Free two-day shipping is very important to Amazon Prime members - so much, in fact, that they would cancel their membership if it wasn't offered.

Today, 6 November, Amazon announced the launch of Amazon Prime in Singapore.

Now that they have made it accessible for Singaporeans, members get to watch shows on its award-winning Amazon Prime Originals like the highly-anticipated second season of The Grand Tour, which will premiere on 8 December.

Forrester senior analyst Xiaofeng Wang noted that Amazon made a splash when it first launched its Prime Now services in Singapore and has made improvements to the service since then, as in the early days, it was unable to fulfill the two-hour delivery promise and had limited product categories and options.

American e-commerce giant Amazon launched its Prime membership programme for Singapore yesterday, ending a four-year period of blanket free shipping to the Republic.

Prime members will also be able to access content in Prime Video and Twitch Prime.

However, as an introductory offer, Amazon only charge S$2.99, though Amazon decline to inform of how long the promotion will last.

Air Pollution May Slightly Reduce Some Benefits Of Exercise For Old People
In the healthy volunteers, the reduction in arterial stiffness resulting from the walk in Hyde Park persisted for up to 26 hours. They also suggest older adults walk in green spaces that are away from polluted or high-traffic areas.

But customers who do not have a Prime membership in the United States can enjoy free delivery within the country for orders totalling US$25 or more on eligible items.

The Vice-President of Amazon Prime International, Mr Jamil Ghani, said that it has learnt a great deal about how to craft the Prime programme through that experience. For that amount, members get to enjoy Prime Video, a membership with video game streaming platform Twitch, and unlimited free worldwide shipping on orders above S$60 on the Prime Now mobile app.

An Amazon customer service officer contacted through the website's live chat function on Tuesday (Dec 5) said that free shipping to Singapore ended on Monday (Dec 4).

Speaking about the launch of Amazon Prime, Jamil Ghani, vice-president of Amazon Prime International, said, "Prime membership is created to offer the best of Amazon". A message on the checkout page of Amazon's USA store now states that "items shipped to addresses outside the U.S. are not eligible for free shipping".

Other consumers are looking for more services to be added to Prime.

It offers users benefits such as rebates and discounts for RedMart, Netflix, Uber, UberEats and Taobao Collection.
