Amazon Fire TV Adds Browsers for Big-Screen Web Browsing

Mozilla on Wednesday announces the expand Firefox support to Amazon Fire TV.

Amazon on Thursday rolled out Mozilla Firefox and Amazon Silk browsers on all Amazon Fire TV devices in over 100 countries and territories. That is why Firefox took out its press release with the tagline that directly states that Firefox for Fire TV is just right for watching video at home.

The move comes after Google earlier this month announced plans to pull its YouTube app from Amazon's Fire TV and Echo Show over the online retailer's refusal to carry some of its products.

A few weeks ago we informed you about Google's decision to forbid Amazon Fire TV devices from accessing YouTube due to an ongoing dispute with interoperability and sales.

This will be good news for Amazon Fire TV users, whose access to YouTube has been threatened thanks to the current feud between Amazon and Google. The upside: Silk offers better integration with the Fire TV remote control.
