Tennessee State Football Player Punches, KOs Own Coach On Sidelines

The incident, caught on camera and shared by The Tennessean, appears to show senior defensive end Latrelle Lee punching strength and conditioning coach T.J. Greenstone in the head. Lee was immediately dismissed from the sideline by head coach Rod Reed for improper misconduct and was later expelled from both the team and the university.

The Tigers offense was on the field at the time as Greenstone walked down the sideline telling players to move back if they were too close.

Greenstone recovered somewhat from the first punch, but Lee's fist returned nearly immediately, sending the couch down to the ground.

On Monday morning, he was expelled from school. There is as of now no explanation of what led to Lee swinging on Greenstone.

Per the report, Greenstone is a former Vanderbilt player who oversees all of the school's athletic programs.

One of Greenstone's job as a coach for TSU is to keep players who aren't playing away from the sidelines so as to avoid penalties.

Expulsion really could not have come at a worse time for Lee, as he was a senior Criminal Justice major and Honor Roll member past year.

Lee was majoring in criminal justice and was named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
