Sony Developing Morbius The Living Vampire Movie

Sony Developing Morbius The Living Vampire Movie

Yet, it still depends on how Venom turns out, since, like the Morbius project, it will serve as the cold introduction to an iconic Spider-Man-connected character, sans the presence of Spider-Man, acquainting audiences with the identifiable elements of a dubious, sometimes-malevolent protagonist. The character, who was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane, would over time develop into more of an antihero than a villain. They've just announced a spin-off around the anti-hero known as Morbius the Living Vampire. Morbius essentially turned himself into a vampire, requiring the blood of others to sustain himself and keep from dying to the aforementioned disease. For those unfamiliar, Morbius (despite his appearance and his "vampire" status) is actually one of the good guys. He gained super strength and is absolutely willing to drink blood for the sake of science. He can not, however, shape-shift or control the weather, nor is he hurt by garlic, holy water or crucifixes.

Tom Hardy's Venom movie is still deep in production, but Sony isn't wasting any time setting up its next Spider-Man spin-off feature film. Power Rangers writers Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama developed the script, which was submitted to Sony "after a secret development process".

Furthermore, Sony has not mentioned how they will be reinventing the character of Morbius or if they will sticking to canon material.

Sharpless and Sazama explored vampirism in "Dracula Untold" was directed by Gary Shore in his feature film debut and written as an origin story for its title character, Count Dracula, portrayed by Luke Evans.

Green Beret discovered SEALs' illicit cash. Then he was killed
Melgar did what most only dream of and excelled at every turn!" "He is missed dearly every single day, but his legacy lives on". Add this to the Beast's report about illicit cash discovery, and the probe into Melgar's death has grown even more tangled.

Which is why it's hard to get excited about a Morbius movie, which comes completely out of left field.

The Spider-Man franchise plays home to many superheroes and villains, which to be honest Sony has only scratched the surface of.

Sony is looking to expand its Spider-Man shared universe with a film centered on Morbius, the Living Vampire. He first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #101, which was the first issue not written by Stan Lee. For now, it's anybody's guess.
