Seahawks to sign Byron Maxwell in wake of Richard Sherman injury

Prosise had been hampered by ankle injuries all season.

The Seahawks on Tuesday officially announced the signing of free agent cornerback Byron Maxwell while also signing running back Mike Davis to their 53-man roster.

Seattle was in need of a cornerback after losing Richard Sherman to a ruptured Achilles during their victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Maxwell, who was released by the Miami Dolphins in October, will join the Seattle Seahawks once again. He spent four years in Seattle as one of the original members of the "Legion of Boom" and is now midway through his seventh year in the league.

In April, Blavatnik, a Russian billionaire, bought out another RatPac-Dune principal, the Australian tycoon James Packer. Now Warner Bros . has (thankfully) chose to move the date up by a month, opting for November 1, 2019, instead.

The 29-year-old has gone through a workout with Seattle on Monday morning prior to re-signing with the team.

Maxwell, out of Clemson, was drafted in 2011 by the Seahawks with the No. 173 overall pick. In his absence, the Seahawks went with Jeremy Lane for the rest of the game. As a rookie, Prosise posted 172 yards on 30 carries and one touchdown along with 208 yards on 17 receptions.

Davis was a fourth-round pick of the 49ers in 2015 out of SC.

Prosise suffered another ankle injury against Arizona on Thursday and will end his second season with Seattle having gained 23 yards on 11 carries and catching six passes for 87 yards.
