READ: House Intel Committee Releases Full Transcript Of Carter Page Testimony

Page also said he let senior members of Trump's campaign staff know of his trip in July 2016, including then-Republican Senator Jeff Sessions, who is now USA attorney general, as well as senior Trump aides Hope Hicks and Corey Lewandowski.

He also wrote that Dvorkovich had "expressed strong support for Mr. Trump and a desire to work together toward devising better solutions in response to a vast range of current worldwide problems".

Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff confronted Page with an email he wrote on July 8 from Moscow to Trump campaign adviser J.D. Gordon saying that he had received "incredible insights and outreach from a few Russian legislators and senior members of the presidential administration here". The committee released the transcript of the seven-hour session late Monday.

Testifying before the committee, Page, however, denied that he met any Russian officials, saying that he learned of their views about the U.S. election from local media and scholars.

In testimony made public on Monday, Page initially said he did not meet with any senior Russian officials during a trip in July 2016 but later said he "briefly" greeted Russian deputy prime minister Arkady Dvorkovich, and saw him again at a dinner in December 2016.

Page told lawmakers he has not been told by the special counsel to expect an indictment, but wouldn't say whether he's met with special counsel Robert Mueller or his team.

The transcript shows Page, a Navy veteran who worked for a time in Moscow as an energy consultant, was at times combative and evasive in response to committee questions.

The Page testimony added to the mounting? evidence of numerous contacts between Trump's presidential campaign and Russian Federation in 2016 just at the time Moscow was mounting a hacking and disinformation operation aimed and boosting Trump's chances to win the White House. "I've played this nonsensical game long enough and am not interested in this latest round tonight", he said.

Page also acknowledged that he solicited suggestions for his Moscow speech from the campaign.

A mid-flight marital discord resulted in an unscheduled, forced landing of a Doha-Bali Qatar Airways flight in Chennai . A CISF official told TOI that the passenger argued with her husband and the crew members and hence had to be deplaned.

He told the committee that he informed then-Sen.

In one email to fellow campaign aides, Page suggested that Trump perhaps take his place and travel to Moscow "to raise the temperature a little bit" and, in another, he asked how campaign officials would "prefer me to focus" his remarks.

Page acknowledged that he received an email from Papadopoulos a year ago that made a reference to the professor.

Page called the encounter "just a brief greeting".

It's always been known that Page traveled to Moscow in July 2016, but he has said it was in his private capacity, unrelated to his role with the Trump campaign.

Later, it emerged that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had obtained a secret court order to monitor Page's communications during the summer of 2016. It was on that trip that he met with the Russian officials. Page denied meeting with Sechin, Rosneft's CEO, during that trip, but he said it would have been "a great honor" if he had.

Page's Russian contacts did not end on his return from Moscow.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) admitted on Sunday to CNN host Jake Tapper that there has not been any evidence to suggest President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign colluded with Russian Federation by receiving damaging information on failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the form of emails.

"If you'd like to go on your own, not affiliated with the campaign, you know, that's fine", Page recalled Lewandowski telling him about the trip.
