Nedbank Golf Challenge: Scott Jamieson leads Victor Dubuisson

Nedbank Golf Challenge: Scott Jamieson leads Victor Dubuisson

"I'm in a good position, Sunday will be a new challenge".

Jamieson is hunting the second European Tour title of his career, and what would also be the second in South Africa.

Having finished third behind Swede Alex Noren 12 months ago, Dubuisson will definitely be a danger, as will two-time major victor Kaymer and home favourite Grace, the man who earned a place in the record books earlier this year when he became the first man to shoot 62 in a major with a sparkling Saturday effort in the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

"Yeah, it would be the biggest moment of my career".

Until the 18th on Saturday afternoon, the Fancourt-based player had owned the back nine at the Gary Player Country Club, having made 10 birdies and an eagle since the tournament started on Thursday.

"I was on the road, stuck between trucks, planning to get to Sun City by 8.30".

As his nearest challenger, Dubuisson will also like his chances.

The Esker Hills man managed to steady the ship and made par on the remaining holes to sign for his second level par round of the week, leaving him at one under par for the tournament.

It is noted that the strikes were aimed at the Ministry of defense of Yemen. "The house has been destroyed". The casualty toll could rise as rescuers search through the rubble for survivors.

"I've played plenty of golf here and won three tournaments here, so it's not the course that I have to prepare for".

"I kind of putted very easy". I try to play to the middle of the green. "I think one-under is still a good score here", he said.

A bogey at the par-three 11th was no great drama, but after racking up a triple-bogey eight at the par-five 14th and then following a birdie two at the 16th with a closing bogey, Lowry must dismiss any gathering demons if he's to contend for a win that could transform his season.

It's an approach that also suits Grace.

And Grace would love nothing more.

"This is one of those events you grow up watching as a South African and this is probably the event as a South African you want to win", he said.

"I'm a grinder and Friday's round was certainly not the best, especially that front nine", he said. Hopefully I can do that.

Last year, Sweden's Alex Noren came from a similar shot deficit to win "Africa's Major" and Fleetwood will need to do the same.
