Body found near sites of 3 unsolved Tampa slayings

- Tampa police have swarmed a Seminole Heights neighborhood after a fourth murder happened in the area early this morning.

The normally quiet, working-class Seminole Heights section of bungalows and palm trees was sealed off with yellow crime-scene tape after the latest killing in the neighborhood - that of a 60-year-old man who was shot from behind as he crossed a street shortly after 5 a.m.

The killings in the central Tampa neighborhood appear to be random, police said. "Make sure your video is up and running", said Dugan.

All three victims, 22-year-old Benjamin Mitchell, 32-year-old Monica Hoffa and 20-year-old Anthony Naiboa were found within one mile of each other.

On Tuesday, Ronald Felton, an unemployed construction worker who volunteered at a food bank, was gunned down. District officials said schools within the area are open today, but Edison Elementary spent the day under a precautionary "lock-in", meaning access was tightly controlled and outdoor activities were cancelled. Law enforcement took over the parking lot at a Baptist church, and a federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives bus was parked at the makeshift command center.

Anthony Naiboa, 20, was shot to death October 19 after he accidentally got on the wrong bus after leaving work and ended up in the neighborhood by mistake, police said. "Up until recently I used to accidentally fall asleep with the door unlocked".

"Her trunk was stuck somehow", Thomas said. "When I spoke to her, she said, 'If our officer had been five seconds earlier, he would've been able to stop it'".

On Tuesday morning, Stewart talked about that incident on Today , saying that he had been caught off guard by Ackerman's question. I'm not that connected to that world.

Her neighbors have also changed their routines. Later, they're seen running.

He was walking home when he was killed, police said.

Halloween festivities, which seemed all but certain to be canceled, proceeded cautiously, with Tampa's mayor and interim police chief joining children to trick-or-treat as a show of faith in the community. It was unclear if Tuesday's victim was near a bus stop. "I don't know why he feels the need to go out and senselessly murder people in the street, shoot them down like they're dogs". "It's some insane person. And number four, they just murdered Benjamin Mitchell".

"The suspect is described as a black male, 6′ to 6′ 2" tall with a thin build and a light complexion. The suspect is believed to be armed with a large black pistol and was last seen wearing all black clothes and a baseball cap.

A man was fatally shot in the head on Tuesday (Nov 14) in Florida in the fourth in a series of unsolved murders in the southern USA state.

Another regular rider, 74-year-old Lola Orr has a different approach to guarding her safety while there's a killer on the loose.
