Samsung and Huawei now testing their smartphones for Android 8.0 Oreo

The focus is back on Nokia 9 now that HMD Global has released Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8. Huawei and Samsung are now testing the latest software for their smartphones.

Earlier this month, HMD Global had officially confirmed that its three mid-range smartphones- Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 will receive Android 8.0 Oreo update.

SamMobile reported that Samsung is now testing Google's latest mobile operating system for its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, with S8 under the software number G950FXXU1BQI1 and the S8 Plus under the software number G955FXXU1BQI1. Reports indicate that Samsung and Huawei are now testing their flagship devices for Android Oreo. However, the tech firm has yet to announce the official release date of the update.

Google's Android Oreo started rolling out for Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones along with Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C tablet devices early September.

We already have seen a Geekbench benchmarking listing which revealed the Android Oreo internal Beta testing result of Nokia 8 smartphone. Other Android manufacturers expected to update devices to the new software include LG, Sony, Motorola, HTC, OnePlus and Essential.

Speaking about the specs of the OnePlus 5 smartphone, the handset is now running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

What we hope this means is that OnePlus is readying up a beta version of the software for OnePlus 5 owners to launch tout-de-suite. This handset will come powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC that clocks at 2.4GHz.

The device is available in two different variants which are 6GB RAM / 64GB storage and 8GB / 128GB storage options.
