Pokémon Go's Halloween update introduces new monsters from Ruby and Sapphire

The ghost types Duskull, Dusclops, Shuppet, Sableye and Banette will lead the charge, while existing spooky Pokémon like Gastly, Cubone, Misdreavus, Houndour will become more commonplace.

Dataminers gave us the heads up already, but now we have a better sense of Pokemon Go's plans for Halloween and Generation 3. The developer says that the wave of additions will continue starting in December, with brand-new creatures pulled from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.

Pokemon Go will jump forward another generation this holiday season, adding dozens of new pocket monsters to catch and collect.

Niantic didn't mention whether a new spooky remix of the Lavender Town soundtrack would be released as a special bonus during the upcoming event. For the first time, third-gen Pokemon will be included.

The Halloween celebration runs until Thursday, November 2 at 1:00pm Pacific.

There will also new boxes that can be purchased in the in-game shop that contains a variety of different items like Super Incubators and Raid Passes.
