Nadal, Federer cruise into Shanghai Masters quarter-finals

Juan Martín del Potro is making a late run to qualify as one of the chosen eight for next month's ATP Tour Finals in London after his determined fight-back to beat Alexander Zverev at the Shanghai Rolex Masters.

ALEXANDER ZVEREV confirmed his status as the new bad boy of tennis with an explosive display of racquet smashing in Shanghai.

Zverev's fury at letting the match slip became apparent in the third as he massacred his racquet as the Argentine broke for a 3-2 lead in the decider.

Third seed Zverev was a different matter, though, and, after losing the first four games, Bedene accepted he would not be able to compete and shook hands.

Lawler recently got back in the win column after a high-profile setback, outpointing Donald Cerrone in July at UFC 214. Now 2-0 at welterweight, Dos Anjos, like Lawler, stands out as one of the division's premier contenders.

“I dont understand how I can lose a match where I get broken one time in three sets and not managed to get any chances on his serve, ” said Zverev, the world number four tipped to one day top the rankings.

It was del Potro's only break of serve for the match as the world No.23 held strong to close out the match five games later.

In the quarter-finals, Nadal will play sixth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria, who got past Sam Querrey of the US 6-3, 7-6 (3). The Bulgarian Dimitrov defeated American Sam Querrey 6-3, 7-6 (7/3) and Spains Ramos-Vinolas saw off Germanys Jan-Lennard Struff 7-6 (7/4), 6-4.
