Facebook outages reported in US, Europe

Swathes of social media users were left frustrated after being unable to access Facebook on Wednesday afternoon. Outage Report is also monitoring the problem, which it says started at 11.11 a.m ET.

At its peak, more than 12,000 users sent reports to site downtime detection site Down Detector, indicating Facebook was down.

At this time, the most affected areas of the outage include the East and West coasts of the U.S.as well as Europe. South American users reported problems in Argentina, Brazil and Peru. "We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing Facebook and Instagram".
