Destiny 2's Iron Banner Plays Differently Than You're Used To

As discussed in our Destiny 2 Power level explainer, you can only redeem Milestone rewards once per week, so make sure you complete them before the reset.

Thankfully though, the lacklustre Iron Banner will still go live today. Following the tradition of ancient armor brought to life, Destiny 2's Iron Banner appears to be homaging the samurai and Feudal Japan. Both Destiny 2 and Overwatch are published by Activision, and somewhere along the line someone made a decision to have some fun.

Destiny 2 is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. Fans of Destiny might recognize the stage, as it is a remake of the Shores of Time map from the first game. This battleground will be added to standard crucible playlists following the Iron Banner's completion.

If you're stuck for what to do next, investigate the Milestones at the start of a new reset. You can also earn them by completing daily challenges in exchange for reputation bundles.

There are some nice new armor sets available for your characters in the Iron Banner event, as Bungie showed off in the tweet just below.

Destiny 2's Iron Banner is a Crucible Event that occurs at regular intervals, focusing on specific modes that reward players with unique spoils depending on how they perform. Now that one iconic map is making a return to our screens, it stands to reason that there might be several more Destiny originals returning in the game's sequel in the coming months. Provided you've done both of those things, you can head to the Tower and speak with Lord Saladin, who unlocks Iron Banner as a Crucible playlist. This time, it will be the Iron Lords in charge of the next contest, as well as the rewards.
