Amazon Studios chief Roy Price suspended over sexual assault allegation

"McGowan said she complained to Price about Weinstein, and that after that Amazon killed a project she was working on with Price's team".

In a statement Thursday, Amazon says Roy Price's leave of absence is effective immediately. Ms. Hackett is the daughter of author Philip K. Dick, whose novel inspired the series.

"Insiders have speculated for months about Price's possible departure from his role as head of Amazon's original-video arm", Variety said. "Albert Cheng, now the chief operating officer of Amazon Studios, will assume Price's duties on a temporary basis", The New York Times reported.

Once in the cab, Hackett says Price repeatedly and insistently propositioned her.

The head of Amazon Studios has been suspended and the company is reviewing its work with the Weinstein Company, Amazon said.

"Hackett previously was reluctant to talk publicly about the incident", the Reporter notes.

The studio picked up three Oscars this year under Price's helm.

When they arrived at the party, Price approached Hackett while she was talking to fellow executives and shouted "Anal Sex!" directly into her ear.

The hearing was done by a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice, Dipak Misra . The court deferred the matter to November 21.

"Multiple agents and producers who spoke to Variety in recent weeks speculated that such a departure may come soon".

Before the suspension, the company told THR: "We take seriously any questions about the conduct of our employees".

Amazon released a mealy-mouthed statement that read in part, "W$3 e looked closely at this specific concern and addressed it directly with those involved".

The Hollywood Reporter first reported that Price had been suspended.

When asked about why she made a decision to come forward, Hackett said she was inspired after detailed accusations of abuse from numerous women against Weinstein."I think women inspire each other". It ends when we change the culture of Hollywood, diversify the industry, and create a space that allows for survivors to safety tell their stories. "I said I was the proof", McGowan wrote in a tweet.

Hackett says she was inspired by the women who came forward - including actresses Rose McGowan, Angelina Jolie, Cara Delevingne, Ashley Judd, Asia Argento, and more than two dozen others - about Weinstein's long history of sexual abuse of women.

"But this incident has been looming and it's hard to shake it".

"You don't want to bring this into it".
