Timo Werner namechecks Tottenham Hotspur when discussing RB Leipzig future

The 21-year-old has really caught the eye this season with some prolific displays, scoring four goals in four games for his club and three in two for Germany during the latest global break.

But any club wishing to prise the 21-year-old away from the Bundesliga side may have their work cut out or pay through the roof for the privilege as Werner is under long-term contract and can not be bought for a fixed fee, meaning Leipzig hold all the negotiating power. But as I said: "I like it in Leipzig very well".

"That is why I do not think what is ahead in one, two or three years".

According to RB Leipzig director Oliver Mintzlaff, the club are in no hurry to sell the in-form striker as the player does not have a release clause in his current club contract.

Liverpool have listed RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner as one of their chief transfer targets for next summer's transfer window.

"We play in the Champions League", Mintzlaff is quoted by Kicker as telling Sky.

Renault is expected to announce Carlos Sainz Jr.as their new driver, replacing Jolyon Palmer who the team is reportedly unhappy with.

Liverpool are not the only club attempting to land Werner in the transfer market as Real Madrid have also been linked to the German worldwide.

"FC Bayern is also a big club, but for me it is not a topic that I am concerned with". In England there are a few more: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Real Madrid have been most heavily linked to the 21-year-old while a number of Premier League clubs also monitor his progress.

Werner will be back in action for Leipzig tonight as the Bundesliga side face Monaco in the Champions League.

However a move for Werner will not come cheap.
