PV Sindhu enters Korea Open final, faces Japan's Nozomi Okuhara

It was sweet revenge for Sindhu who had gone down to Okuhara in the final of the recent World Championships in Glasgow. Nozomi defeated Sindhu laast month in the BWF World Badminton Championship. Mitani then erased the deficit but Sindhu ensured she had the bragging rights after the first game as she sealed it quickly.

Sindhu didn't let the momentum shift in the second set affect her, as she calmly went about her business, and raced into an 11-5 lead at the mid-game interval. Sindhu and Okuhara were once again playing a tense third game before Sindhu began edging ahead.

In the men's doubles event, the Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty booked their place in the quarter-finals after clinching a three-set victory over the seventh-seeded team of Lee Jhe-Huei and Lee Yang of Chinese Taipei.

With the win, Sindhu drew level 4-4 with Okuhara in their head-to-head record after the Japanese had taken the lead post the World Championships. Sindhu only had to maintain her composure.

Sindhu had an easy start however she has been defended by Bingjiao and it took some time for Sindhu to end up victorious.
