Philippine authorities investigate shooting near president's residence

A member of the Philippine presidential guard has been killed in a shooting near President Duterte's compound, his spokesman said today. "When she arrived in the quarters [of the security], she found her husband lying dead", Dagoy told reporters, adding that the body had a bullet hole near his heart, as broadcast by CNN Philippines. "We continue to do so", he said.

PSG spokesperson Mike Aquino confirmed the reports of the shooting saying that the incident was reported in the PSG Complex inside Malacanang Park, the base of Duterte's guard unit and near to his Bahay ng Pagbabago residence. "Certainly no foul play".

More than 800 people have died in the conflict, which Duterte said was triggered by an attempt to arrest a drug personality, who he did not identify. He was due to attend some events in Manila on Tuesday evening.

Saudi Arabia To Finally Let Women Drive
In cases of divorce, women are only allowed custody of their children until they reach the age of seven (boys) and nine (girls). It's due to come into effect in June next year and marks a special moment for the conservative religious kingdom .

Asked where Duterte was when the shooting occurred, Abella said "we don't have any information regarding that".

During the incident, Duterte was not at home, a spokesman for his security details said. He said it was possible it was an accident but it was too soon to conclude what took place.

Duterte is notoriously unpredictable and often causes confusion with sudden changes to his crowded public schedules, which typically start in the afternoon and can run as much as four hours late, often because of his long, unscripted speeches.
