Muschamp: Deebo out for year with broken leg

Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp said after the game that Samuel broke his leg.

SC wide receiver Deebo Samuel broke his leg during Saturday's 23-13 loss to Kentucky at Williams-Brice Stadium, according to multiple reports.

"I don't want to go out being 0-4 against Kentucky", Allen-Williams said.

However, Samuel and his mother each provided different reports regarding his injury.

This South Carolina-Kentucky football game might mean more to the Gamecocks than any other time the SEC East teams have met.

Game ball for week 3 win over Air Force
Nordin was true on a 29-yard field goal with 2:59 to go in the third for a 19-13 bulge, which stood through the end of the period. The head coach also wasn't looking to be to introspective about Michigan's offensive struggles, at least for public consumption.

Samuel had five catches for 122 yards and a touchdown, his sixth this season. "We got whipped up front", Muschamp said.

Three Gamecocks received carries, including Rico Dowdle, Jake Bentley and A.J. Turner. Early in the third and fourth quarters, SC turned the ball over on downs because it couldn't gain 1 yard on the ground. Samuel took the opening kickoff 97 yards for a TD against North Carolina State two weeks ago, then went 97 yards against Missouri to start the Gamecocks scoring. Bentley finished 24-for-35 for 304 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Kentucky returns home to face Florida on Saturday. After Samuel scored to open the game, Woznick missed the extra point. Not long thereafter the team's top offensive lineman - converted right tackle Zack Bailey - left the field on crutches.

Shell game: Kentucky used three different players at quarterback in the first quarter alone, and none of them was backup quarterback Drew Barker, a one-time SC recruiting target. The Gamecocks will be tasked with stopping Benny Snell and mobile quarterback Stephen Johnson, who will try to dictate the game. The Wildcats have run for over 200 yards in each of the wins.
