In Myanmar, Conspiracy Theories Hound Rohingya Crisis Coverage

The truck was taking food and other supplies to Rohingya Muslims caught in a no-man's-land between Myanmar and Bangladesh at the Nykhongchhari section of the border, Red Cross officials said.

"We've seen too many vulnerable people having to flee for their lives".

On September 22, the tribunal will make a conclusion based on oral testimonies on the atrocities and give findings to global bodies, especially the United Nations, for further action to be taken against Myanmar to end the violence.

The UN human rights chief has described the systematic attacks against the Rohingya minority by the security forces as a "textbook example of ethnic cleansing".

In her address, Ms Suu Kyi did not use the term Rohingya to refer to the Muslim minority in Rakhine State. This is the first comment the US has made about the plight of the Rohingya.

The influx has got people in Ukhia and Teknaf in Bangladesh anxious about diseases that have stated spreading, said the NHRC chairman who voiced concern about the scarcity of medicines and of refugees carrying diseases, which could spread among local residents.

The new funding brings USA humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons in Burma and refugees from Burma in the region to almost $95 million in FY 2017, and it reflects the US commitment to help address the unprecedented magnitude of suffering and urgent humanitarian needs of the Rohingya people.

According to Reuters, the incident late on Wednesday reflected rising communal animosity, and came as U.S. President Donald Trump called for a quick end to the violence that has raised concern about Myanmar's transition from military rule.

China, which has close economic and diplomatic ties with Myanmar and is a competitor to the United States for influence in the strategically important country, has called for understanding of the government's efforts to protect stability.

Over the days, Suu Kyi's silence has drawn widespread criticism.

"Refugees from this country will be accepted without any problem", she said.
