Cologne Boss Peter Stoger Refuses To Be Drawn On Crowd Problems

Arsene Wenger admits he was planning a date for a rearranged Europa League fixture against Cologne as crowd trouble threatened Thursday's game at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal also said it will conduct a review into how large numbers of Cologne fans gained access to the home sections of Emirates Stadium for the Group H match on Thursday.

It is thought that as many as 20,000 Koln supporters travelled to London, despite the Bundesliga outfit receiving just shy of 3,000 official tickets for the Europa League contest, which ended in a 3-1 home win.

Later in the morning UEFA confirmed they had opened proceedings against both clubs.

Arsenal face one charge of violating security regulations because of blocked stairways in the away section, UEFA said.

Arsenal won the game 3-1.

"Due to the enormous demand for tickets, it would have been sensible, not least for security reasons, to allow more than the allocated five percent of stadium capacity to guest fans". Were the problems created by people who had no tickets?

Narendra Modi, Shinzo Abe lay foundation for bullet train in Ahmedabad
Estimated to cost around Rs 97,636 crore, 81 per cent of the funding for the project will come by way of the loan from Japan. Addressing the occasion, Modi termed the bullet train project as the biggest gift from Japan to India.

Uefa's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will rule on the charges on 21 September, with Arsenal facing a €8,000 [£7,025] fine for their single offence.

YouTube footage showed thousands of Cologne fans surging through the streets of London before the match, chanting and setting off flares.

"Many tickets were sold through touts and this is very disappointing and something we continue to work hard to address".

"I moved to a four [at the back] in the second half and Kolasinac gave us a lot going forward, but as well he pushed Sanchez more forward", said Wenger.

"They were very clever I don't know how they managed to infiltrate our fans and they got everywhere. But I must say our supporters as well dealt well with the situation and there was no aggravation".

"These people are exclusively responsible for the fact that a football match with a special meaning for an entire region, as well as the courageous effort of our team on the pitch, had to be overshadowed by scenes that had nothing to do with sport and fair play".
