Albuquerque seeks to become site for new Amazon headquarters

The Seattle-based company announced Thursday it was looking for a new location for its second North American headquarters, with the promise of up to 50,000 jobs with average pay of $100,000 and a $5 billion investment.

Pallister said Winnipeg's bid will be a complete "Team Manitoba effort".

"With our central location in North America, our transportation infrastructure, our well-educated workforce, our plentiful green energy and the lowest cost of doing business in the continent, Winnipeg is the best choice", Pallister said in a news release Saturday.

Pallister noted in the news release that he's reached out to Mayor Brian Bowman, the city's business community and all other stakeholders to make it happen.

The company stated it would prefer a location with a metropolitan area of more than 1 million people, is within 45 minutes of an global airport, is located near major highways and public transportation and is no more than 30 minutes from a population center.

Halliburton Company (HAL) distanced 7.41% to its 52-Week Low = Technical Analysis
On average, equities analysts forecast that Halliburton Company will post $1.12 earnings per share for the current fiscal year. TheStreet downgraded shares of Halliburton from a "c-" rating to a "d+" rating in a report on Thursday, June 29th.

The company, which now employs a workforce of 380,000, says it added $38 billion USA to its home city's economy since setting up in the Pacific Northwest in 2016.

Bowman added Winnipeg is a ideal home for Amazon due to the local expertise in the tech and manufacturing sectors.

Several GTA Mayors took to Twitter to express their interest and support of bringing Amazon to Canada, more specifically, in or around Toronto. Any potential site must have room to grow, as Amazon wants to expand its new headquarters to as much as eight million square feet in the next decade. It is our view that only the Toronto Region will be able to meet Amazon's particular and extensive requirements.

The company also says eligible areas must be near a metropolitan hub with a population of at least one million. "We're excited to find a second home".
