Wisconsin loses standout LB Jack Cichy for season

It was announced on Thursday that star linebacker Jack Cichy, who has worked with the No. 1 unit all camp, will miss the entire 2017 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

The former walk-on had been voted a team captain for 2017 and was placed on watch lists for the Bednarik Award, Butkus Award, Nagurski Trophy and Lott IMPACT Trophy this preseason.

The previous season, the Somerset, Wi. native finished with 60 stops, eight tackles for loss, five sacks and four passes defended.

A timetable for Cichy's full recovery wasn't immediately announced ahead of Friday's surgery.

Actor Sitaram Panchal passes away of cancer
The actor was suffering from this deadly disease from the very long time. "He wasn't keeping well in the last few months". The description for the fund0-raiser said, "Actors like Sitaram Panchal are at the bottom of the Bollywood pyramid".

This is the second major injury Cichy has sustained in as many years.

Cichy was scheduled to start alongside junior T.J. Edwards, who had a team-high 89 tackles a year ago.

"As I learned the news of my injury and the end of my season I couldn't help but reflect", the message read.

Unfortunately, Chryst will have to make adjustments on the fly as returning senior starting inside linebacker Jack Cichy went down with an injury and it will end his season. "You only get so many chances to play this game and you never want to see a guy miss any of those opportunities", Chryst said, via the program's official website.
