OpenAI Bot Remains Undefeated against World's Greatest Dota 2 Players

In the lead up to real life morphing into The Matrix, an AI (funded by an Elon Musk startup) just beat the tar out of some of the world's best Dota 2 players. While its actions per minute aren't any better than that of an average flesh-and-bone player, the choices make a huge difference.

In the first game, with both players using Shadow Fiend, Dendi was flustered by the dominance of the OpenAI bot, with the AI scoring two kills to win compared to one kill by Dendi. OpenAI's future plans include preparing their bot for the complete 5 vs 5 Dota matches.

The bot kept playing until it's skill level reached that of the world's best Dota 2 players, he added.

Army jawan killed in ceasefire violation across LoC by Pakistani troops
An official said some mortar shells fired by Pakistani troops landed in the civilian areas in Balakote sector in Mendhar, Poonch. Another soldier is reported to have been injured in Pakistan army's indiscriminate firing in the same sector.

"We just let it play lifetimes of 1v1 against itself, and coached it on what we thought was good or bad".

In a subsequent tweet Brockman mentions that OpenAI is now working towards Dota 5v5 and is hiring. The title not only involves much more freedom of movement than most board games, but depends on feinting, denial and other less-than-obvious tactics. And rather than attempt a third round, Dendi surrendered.

Dota 2, for those unfamiliar, is an online multi-player battle game. In a promo video shown before the match we see the bot besting some of the game's top players, including Evil Genius' cores Arteezy and Sumail. The AI "feels a little like [a] human, but a little like something else", Dendi said. Musk thanked the company via Twitter for allowing Open AI to use the Microsoft Azure crowd computing platform to develop the bot. From what Brockman said, it seems that the company is hoping that the bot keeps on learning as quickly as it now is, and improve upon its cooperative techniques to take on a full team of professionals before long. "This required massive processing power".
