Najam Sethi unanimously elected chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday elected Najam Sethi as its Chairman.

With the appointment, Sethi has replaced Shaharyar Khan, whose three-year tenure at the post ended on Sunday, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Meanwhile, the former Chairman PCB Shaharyar M Khan has congratulated Najam Sethi on his unanimous election as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. As per PCB constitution, a chairman has to be selected from member of Board of Governors. "He has been trying to invite global teams to Pakistan and he will succeed in that too". Arif had assisted the newly-elected chairman in Pakistan Super League (PSL) as well and wasn't been seen as a threat.

Sethi was also a former caretaker chief minister of the Punjab province and was the key official behind the successful staging of Pakistan's domestic Twenty20 league. He said he will discuss the Sri Lankan team's tour to Pakistan later this year.

This would mean the North is developing nuclear weapons capable of striking the U.S. at a much faster rate than expected. The plan would be reported to the North's Supreme Command soon, the spokesman said, without citing a date.

"Sethi is the best candidate for the chairmanship of PCB and he will win".

"We are asking for a neutral venue for Under-19 World Cup, rather than holding it in India" he said, adding that the issue will come under discussion with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in his upcoming visit to Sri Lanka.

Pakistan is due to host Sri Lanka in October in the United Arab Emirates and Sethi said Pakistan wants to host Sri Lanka in Pakistan after the series ends in the UAE.
