It's official! Android 8.0 is called Oreo

New emojis include a wizard, a dinosaur, a fairy, and an exploding head for when you hear how long your Oreo update is delayed for.

"Android Oreo" features a new picture-in-picture mode, new notification dots to the Operating System (OS) and improvements to Bluetooth audio playback, Google's Android website posted in a blog on Tuesday.

The update is now undergoing carrier testing for Pixel phones and the Nexus 5X and 6P. You can check the list below to know if your device will get Oreo or not.

HTC has confirmed that its newest smartphones will be updated to Google's new Android Oreo software. That's the beauty of owning a Nexus or Pixel device - fast updates! If you have Nexus device and haven't joined the Beta program then you will have to wait for the final update. As in the past, HTC wants to be ahead by announcing that it is going to release Android O for its latest premium flagship phones such as the HTC U11, U Ultra, and HTC 10.

Android 8.0 Oreo is finally official, but that has little meaning for most Android users out there.

Android Oreo comes with a raft of internal improvements, created to boost the performance of existing Google-backed devices. The timeline for the update, however, hasn't been provided yet but we can expect it to arrive in the next quarter.

Asus has promised that will roll out the Android O update for its Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 3 series, however, the company didn't reveal about other smartphones as well.

Motorola had a track record of sending out Android updates soon after they were made available for Google devices but the company has failed to do so in the recent past.

Nokia smartphones Android Oreo Update - Nokia Android phones will also get the latest update. This year's devices will obviously be updated first and rest will follow. Its spokesperson has confirmed that the recently announced BlackBerry KEYone will be getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update. It isn't known yet. Th upcoming phone of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will also get Android Oreo update.

Vivo, on the other hand, has been also criticized by many of not providing timely updates. Samsung Galaxy S8 will get Android 8 update, Samsung Galaxy S8+ and S7 will also get Android 8 update. Numerous older Vivo smartphones still runs on the Android Marshmallow and sadly, if you are Vivo owner, than the next Android update will not reach you anytime sooner or later.
