East Harling dog-walker death: Bins search for weapon

A murder hunt has been launched after the 83-year-old father-of-two - who has not yet been named - suffered multiple stab wounds to his neck and head in woodland near East Harling.

The pensioner, who is described as a family man from Norfolk's East Harling area, was repeatedly stabbed in the neck and head on Saturday morning.

Police investigating the "brutal" stabbing of an elderly man in Norfolk woodland have asked local residents to check their bins as they continue to search for the murder weapon.

A large police presenve remains in East Harling.

"She has seen a lot of odd cars up that bit and you normally look to see if they have got a dog but they sit in their cars and then they are gone".

Motorists travelling in the area between 6am and 9pm that day have also been asked to provide any dashcam footage they captured.

Florida man shot to death while defending his gay friends
Investigators concluded that Cruz rushed to defend his friends when Hernandez Mena pulled out a gun, then shot and killed Cruz. He told investigators he drank 15 to 20 beers and was very drunk when a group of guys started attacking and threatening him.

The victim, a father of two, was found with his ten-year-old foxhound cross and 13-year-old trailhound cross dog, while his red Skoda Fabia vehicle was left nearby.

He said: "I fully understand that residents will be shocked and concerned that a murder with this level of brutality can happen to an elderly man going about his daily business in our county". He was wearing blue/grey pants, a black T-shirt and brown shoes and drove a red Skoda Fabia auto. It was a brutal knife attack.

Police have set up a mobile police station at the scene and deployed more officers in the village.

Heart spoke to people living in the village.

Mr Ransom, who made an eight-mile journey from his home, said the area had been popular with dog walkers for years but he and his wife had started spotting suspicious activity in the woods at the end of June.

Ch Supt Mike Fawcett said 50 police officers were working on the case but he was not in a position to identify the victim who was "well-known" and a "respected member of the local community". Everybody just seems a little bit on edge and not themselves really.
