British grandfather in search for missing 7-year-old after Barcelona attack

Update 2.10pm: A seven-year-old boy missing since the Barcelona attacks has been found alive in hospital, The Guardian is reporting.

The boy's mother, Jumarie Cadmanand known as Jom among friends, was located in a Spanish hospital in a "serious but stable" condition.

Meanwhile, relatives of Julian Cadman, aged seven, have launched an online appeal to find him after he became separated from his mum Jom during the chaos.

The youngest victim is believed to be a three-year-old toddler from Spain, who died alongside his 60-year-old great-uncle.

His grandfather, Tony Cadman, who lives in Sydney but is originally from Gillingham, Dorset, posted an appeal on Facebook.

Theresa May said on Friday that the British government was "urgently looking into reports of a child believed missing, who is a British dual national". Please like and share.

After Mr Cadman made a plea for information, Prime Minister Theresa May said United Kingdom authorities were "urgently looking into reports" that a child, who has dual British nationality, is missing.

The first attack began shortly after 5pm local time (4pm BST), when a white Fiat van sped through Las Ramblas, a busy street in Barcelona.

Eight hours later terrorists strike again, this time in Cambrils, a coastal town and resort 68 miles down the coast from Barcelona.

"The Foreign Office is considering consular assistance to those who were involved in the attack and their families, and are working urgently to see if there are others who need their help", she said, after speaking with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

Police shot dead five suspected terrorists at the scene.
