Donald Trump previously tweeted: "Trade between China and North Korea grew nearly 40 per cent in the first quarter".

The timing and scope of the US action will depend heavily on how China responds to pressure for tougher steps against North Korea when USA and Chinese officials meet for a high-level economic dialogue in Washington Wednesday, the administration sources told Reuters.

History has proven that we can't depend upon intervention by Beijing to curtail this existential nuclear threat.

In addition to demonstrating that Moscow can advance constructive solutions to global crises, Russian Federation has expressed strident opposition to Washington's North Korea strategy to strengthen its relationship with China. Its statement said, "Therefore we are not in a position to agree to this classification on behalf of the whole council since there is no consensus on this issue".

China has repeatedly said it is fully enforcing United Nations sanctions on nuclear-armed North Korea and there is nothing wrong with what it terms "normal" trade with Pyongyang, referring to areas not covered by sanctions. Only American steadfast determination can defuse it.
