The BCCI medical team has advised Vijay to continue his rehabilitation program. Vijay has been out of action since the Australia series and did not participate in IPL 2017 as well.

Shikhar Dhawan has been selected to replace the injured Murali Vijay for India's upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.

Observational studies that link the sweeteners to health problems do not prove the sweeteners themselves are responsible. People may also believe that because they haven't consumed calories, they have license to splurge elsewhere.

Recently, Dhawan has been in superb form, ending the ICC Champions Trophy in England as the leading run-scorer.

Dhawan did show form in the lone T20I that India played against West Indies, but the opener failed to convert his 12 ball 23 into a big score. The 33-year-old suffered an injury during the four-match test series against Australia in India which India won. The will be India's first full series in eight years in Sri Lanka, involving all three formats of the game. The remaining two matches will be played at the historic R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The team is as follows: Virat Kohli (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, R Jadeja, W Saha (wk), Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, M Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Abhinav Mukund.
