Romelu Lukaku arrested amid Manchester United transfer talks in LA

Lukaku scored 25 goals for Everton in the Premier League last season, proving himself as a top goal-scorer in the English top flight.

Chelsea were caught off-guard but they refused to give up and launched a rival bid on Friday for the 24-year-old - who us now in America, where he is holidaying with his close friend, Manchester United star, Paul Pogba.

Both the BBC and Press Association reported the deal was all but done for the 24-year-old Belgian global, who will be reunited with Jose Mourinho, who sold him to Everton in 2014 for £28m when the Portuguese coach was in his second spell as Chelsea manager.

Manchester United are due to play Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Old Trafford on 30 September, before a 10-day worldwide break.

Lukaku had been linked with a move back to Chelsea all summer before United sensationally hijacked the deal.

Meanwhile, United have agreed a fee with Everton for the transfer Lukaku subject to medical and personal terms, the Premier League side said on Saturday.

Celtics trade Texas ex Avery Bradley to Pistons for Marcus Morris
The Boston Celtics have traded guard Avery Bradley to the Detroit Pistons for forward Marcus Morris , the team announced Friday. The three-and-D shooting guard had shown tantalizing flashes of potential in the last two years, but Bradley is an upgrade.

However, Lukaku's move to United is now all but done as reported by the club today, with a final few details needing to be ironed out before he can finalise the £75million transfer.

Captain for club and country, the 31-year-old was reduced to a bit-part role under Jose Mourinho at United last season and also lost his place in Gareth Southgate's England squad.

Lukaku has been holidaying with close friend and Pogba and early on Friday morning the Red Devils' £89million world-record signing posted an Instagram story of the pair training together in Los Angeles.

Ironically Chelsea may now need to beat a path to Real's door to try and secure Morata's services.

However, Lukaku has made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League.

The Italian coach and his backroom staff are yet to sign the new four year contracts they were offered at the end of the campaign.
