Fans of New 3DS face-plates might want to sit down, as Nintendo of Japan is reportedly ceasing production of the standard New Nintendo 3DS.

No such marker is found on the New Nintendo 3DS XL's page, however.

If you've been planning on picking up the snazzy machine, now would be a good time to check up stock online and at your local retailers.

We do not know if the company will also discontinue the New Nintendo 3DS in America, so we will have to wait for more details on that front.
