IAAF Diamond League: Okagbare Places Fourth In Rabat

Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse claimed the victory he needed in the 200 metres to book a place in the end-of-season IAAF Diamond League finals during the latest stop in the series in Rabat, Morocoo on Sunday.

"I chose to race and I was hoping the pain would stay away", said the 22-year-old Kenyan after Morocco's home runner Soufiane El Bakkali had stepped up to earn a home win in a personal best of 8min 05.12sec.

Ujah ran a time of 9.98 seconds - beating the previous record of 10.12 held by Justin Gatlin - a season's best time and just short of his personal best.

His personal best is 9.96, achieved in July 2015.

Botswana's Nijel Amos, who has recovered from injuries to hit top form in the last month with Diamond League 800m victories in Paris and London, maintained his pre-eminence as he won in 1:43.91 in front of Kenya's Kipyegon Bett, who clocked 1:44.28, and Donovan Brazier of the USA, who clocked 1:44.62.

Miller-Uibo eased to a second victory of the season and set another meeting record with a circuit of 49.80, finishing nearly a second before runner-up Natasha Hastings.

Toronto's Shawn Barber, who won his event at the nationals, finished fourth in the pole vault competition as he cleared 5.60m.

Bayern Munich confirm AC Milan's interest in Renato Sanches
Adding to the arrival of Sebastian Rudy from TSG Hoffenheim as well, Sanches immediate future in Bavaria appears to be over. AC Milan are keeping tabs on Renato Sanches , and will attempt to prize the midfielder away from Bayern Munich this summer.

Olympic shot put champion Ryan Crouser appears an unstoppable force as he heads towards the London World Championships.

Shaunae Miller-Uibo is also assured of a place in the final after the Olympic champion coasted to a 400m win.

Sports reports that Ujah also won the 100m at the Rome and London meetings this year.

Andriy Protsenko of Ukraine jumps 2.29 in the third and last attempt to win in Rabat.

Jamaica's Kimberley Williams and Tajay Gayle will be participating in the women's triple jump and men's long, respectively.

Ivorian Ben Youssef Meite was second in 10.01, while another Britain, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, was some way off the pace in third in a time of 10.18.

Zuzana Hejnova of the Czech Republic won the women's 400 metres in 54.22 seconds. He was pleased with his run, but has yet to go under 20 seconds this season.
