Dom Dwyer dealt to Orlando City FC from Kansas City

Dwyer scored 67 goals in all competitions during his six-year stint with Sporting Kansas City, second-most in team history.

Sporting Kansas City has had outside interest in Dwyer before, rebuffing advances from Greece's Olympiakos to hold onto him.

Since 2012, Dwyer has the fourth most goals in the MLS with 57. He also scored in the tournament-opening match against Panama before returning to Sporting KC after the group stage. Orlando City has an affiliated team in the women's league, the Orlando Pride. The development was a dream for Orlando City, where Dwyer became a fan favorite after leading the USL version of the Lions to a championship while on loan in 2013. At the very least, the club will acquire $400,000 in general allocation money and $500,000 in targeted allocation in the trade.

Dwyer will be joining Canadian forward Cyle Larin on Orlando City, with the pair now posing as one of the most potent attacks in MLS, with 13 goals between them so far in 2017. His salary is set to increase in the final year of his deal in 2018.

Former Eagles, Steelers QB Michael Vick joins Chiefs as coaching intern
Vick said he was fine starting as a position coach and learning how to be a coordinator. So we'll see how it goes. "It's another way to chase a championship", Vick told ESPN.

He is the husband of USA women's team star Sydney Leroux, who plays for FC Kansas City in the NWSL.

The deal involves a straight player-for-cash swap, with Kansas City earning up to potentially $1.6 million allocation money in the deal, a new MLS allocation money record.

Who will Sporting KC find to replace Dwyer? Nemeth has been the target of several MLS teams, including New England and D.C. United, and sources tell Goal that a deal between the Crew and an unidentified MLS team had been agreed to in order to land Nemeth, only to have Nemeth back out after discussions with Sporting KC. Per ESPN FC, "Sporting KC will receive $900,000 in a mixture of targeted and general allocation money, but that figure could raise to as much as $1.6 million with performance bonuses". Nemeth spent the 2015 season with Sporting KC, scoring 11 goals before moving via a transfer to Al Gharafa.

Orlando is familiar territory for Dwyer, who starred on loan with Orlando City while it was in USL and helped the club win the then-third-division title with four goals in the title match. Orlando City can play Larin and Dwyer together, and look to rebuild Larin's market value ahead of a potential winter transfer.
