Amazon may be working on a new messaging service called 'Anytime'

Amazon messaging app Anytime will work for both Android and iOS platform. But Instagram also had an existing user base and promotional links with its parent company Facebook as well, which it could use to grow the service. Amazon has recently added calling and messaging features to its Alexa assistant and some of the capabilities used on the Alexa app could be found on Anytime. The company that holds 70% share in the smart speaker market in the U.S. is reportedly working on a messaging app named Anytime.

So far, Amazon has not made any official comments on rumours related to Anytime messaging app.

Whatsapp was one of the first messaging services to offer message encryption services. They can reach out to their friends using just their name and @mentions as well as make use of filters for photos and video with "special effects and masks'". It reads "Keep chats private and encrypt important messages".

England 205 all out in 2nd Test, trail by 130 runs
Du Plessis (19) and Temba Bavuma (20) steadied the ship briefly but the collapse looked to be on after they each fell to Stokes. In the last 11 Tests which have produced a result at Trent Bridge , seven have been won by the side batting first .

For all its promise, Amazon could struggle convincing users to use another messaging app on top of leading messaging platforms already hugely popular today. This app will let users of smartphones, tablets, PCs and smart watches chat with text and video. The cream of the cake will be its ability to avail Amazon services like music and food ordering (and other shopping) within the app itself. However, it's not at all surprising to hear that the company might be making a messaging app of its own.

Amazon clearly has its reasons for wanting to branch out into messaging like this, but I'm damned if I can see the point.
