WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Preview

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Preview

-Naomi vs. Lana for the Smackdown Women's Championship. I'm really hoping the culprits are American Alpha, who have been mysteriously absent for a little while now and could benefit from the rejuvenation of a heel turn after a pretty blah face run.

Jinder Mahal is the WWE Champion, and Sunday night he's set to defend his title against Randy Orton in Orton's hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.

If the WWE wants a face to win the women's Money in the Bank match, Lynch is the only true candidate.

The SmackDown tag team renaissance has been a joy, and four teams get the opening half-hour to show off their stuff.

HIS Sunday the superstars of SmackDown will battle it out at one of the most exciting events in the WWE calendar - Money in the Bank. However, Styles does not need the briefcase to ascend back into the title scene. But how they integrate Orton's father, "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr., into the storyline (he'll be seated at ringside) should end up judging whether this match will be an entertaining success. If WWE does indeed go that rumored route, don't expect Mahal's prominent push to last much longer.

AS: For all the reasons Brian laid out, it does not make any sense to take the strap off Mahal.

Comey's removal will provide us the opportunity to do that on a cooperative, bipartisan basis", the letter concludes. Grassley announced the investigation in a letter to California Sen.

Many WWE fans have always looked at NXT as being a lesser brand since the goal of the division is for wrestlers to work their way to the main roster. In fact, this will be the first women's ladder match of any kind in WWE history.

Matthew Wilkinson: This Sunday sees another historical night for women's wrestling and the expectations and pressure are certainly high for the women involved. You know I think that would be great because I look up to Khali like an older brother. That narrows my prediction down to Natalya or Carmella, and either is a legitimate option. It was quite fitting to see the first ever Mr Money in the Bank get cashed-in on, but aside from that this was wasn't really all that memorable.

Currently, there are only five women scheduled to take place in the historic women's match. What is really impressive is that the WWE named the Cruiserweight Classic match between Kota Ibushi and Cedric Alexander as the fifth best of the year and Ibushi isn't even a contract star for the WWE. But as for who comes out with the briefcase, give me the veteran, who will use the prop to help reestablish himself as an elite performer over the next few months.

AS: Brian nailed this pick. Had it been a younger star who had won (Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston all competed in the match) and done the same thing then perhaps this would have been more impactful. He has a recent clean win over Styles and was given the spotlight as Nakamura's first opponent on the main roster. When Ziggler came up, Nakamura said: "He's a such a good wrestler". Sacrifice is not always rewarded by WWE, particularly when Ziggler is the one sacrificing, but this time is different.

The victor of this match is the first woman to retrieve the special "MITB" briefcase hanging above the ring.
