Vice President Mike Pence hires outside counsel in Russian Federation probe

Less than a month after Trump did the same, US Vice President Mike Pence hired a private attorney to represent him in the Russian Federation investigation.

Pence took several weeks longer than the president to choose former USA attorney and Virginia state attorney general Richard Cullen as his counsel on the myriad of ongoing Russia-related investigations.

Trump hired his own lawyer last month to handle Russia-related inquiries by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and US congressional committees.

"The vice president has retained Richard Cullen of McGuire Woods to assist him in responding to inquiries by the special counsel", Pence's communications director Jared Agen said in a statement.

Vice-President Mike Pence has hired an outside lawyer to handle his response to inquiries into possible ties between President Trump's campaign and Russian Federation.

According to the Washington Post, Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence, Mike Rogers, the head of the National Security Agency, and Richard Ledgett, the former deputy director at the NSA, agreed to be interviewed by Mueller's investigators as early as this week.

Two Washington campaign finance lawyers said Thursday night the rules offer leeway when hiring outside legal representation.

He said he believed the price of worldwide benchmark Brent crude would have to drop to $45 a barrel before USA rig growth slowed. Increased oil production in the United States is hampering efforts to balance out market supply and demand, OPEC said on Tuesday.

The latest media reports say the obstruction of justice investigation began just days after Mr Trump fired Mr Comey on 9 May.

Cullen was also the special counsel to former senator Paul S Trible Jr. Every time his opponent, vice-presidential candidate Tim Kaine, brought up a statement by Trump-a public, documented statement, the veracity of which Americans could easily validate-Pence did not embellish.

The document said there was "an obvious case" of obstruction that was never investigated against former Attorney General Loretta Lynch related to the FBI investigation of Clinton's email server.

Richard Cullen is known for representing high profile clients. And aides to Pence, who was running the transition team, said the vice president was never informed of Flynn's overseas work with Turkey, either.

The White House has said the president "has never asked Mr Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn". In keeping with a new practice, she referred one after another to Trump's personal lawyer.

With the special counsel investigation and congressional inquiries into Russia's involvement in the 2016 election beginning, everyone is looking for ways to protect themselves.

A senior administration adviser acknowledged there have been weeks of hand-wringing behind closed doors among members of Pence's team, and an acceptance that the questions about Russian Federation and the Trump campaign were not disappearing.
