'Trooping the colour' in London for queen's official birthday

In a statement to mark the official celebration of her 91st birthday, she said: "It is hard to escape a very soreer national mood" after a "succession of terrific tragedies".

As for why the Queen celebrates her birthday twice, the Royal Mint explains, "The official birthday is held in the summer as it means there's a better chance of good weather for the ceremony".

May is chairing a government task force on the fire and a spokesman says that she will meet afterward with "a group of residents, victims, volunteers and community leaders" at No. 10 Downing Street.

Prime Minister Theresa May met with survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Scuffles broke out near the Kensington and Chelsea town hall offices Friday as demonstrators chanting "We want justice!" surged toward the doors.

Earlier, emergency services spent a third day searching for bodies in the burnt-out tower in North Kensington.

"It will go to establish the answers of what happened in the fire and how it spread; it will look at the building itself; it will look at the refurbishment as well".

Queen Elizabeth and Prince William have made an emotional visit to the site of the Grenfell Tower disaster, meeting with mourners and offering comforting words to victims.

The message was published before her Madge enjoyed her birthday knees up at the Trooping the Colour bash, which marked her official birthday.

In recent months, the country has witnessed a succession of bad tragedies.

People look at floral tributes outside the Notting Hill Methodist Church, left for the victims of the June 14 Grenfell Tower block fire, in Kensington, west London, on June 17, 2017.

Ms Aghzafi, 42, who has been helping translate for Moroccan families caught up in the fire, told the Press Association: "I said to him "I was thinking about you yesterday when a woman told me her children are very traumatised".

"United in our sadness, we are equally determined, without fear or favor, to support all those rebuilding lives so horribly affected by injury and loss".

"Today is traditionally a day of celebration", Queen Elizabeth said in a statement.

May announced a £5 million package to help the victims, and promised to re-house majority in the Kensington and Chelsea borough.

The BBC understands those missing could number about 70, with the 30 likely to be among that number.

On Thursday, the first victim of the fire was named as Syrian refugee Mohammed Alhajali, 23.

Police have said the recovery process could take weeks, and warned some of the bodies may be too burned to be identified.
