Summer Reading Program Kicks Off with Magic

This year, they hope to attract more junior-high and high-school readers with programs selected specifically for tweens and teens, including a 'zine workshop, a Tween-Teen coding games day, and Frankentoys (deconstructing stuffed animals).

No registration is required. The more books read, the better a participant's chance of winning prizes.

The Jackson Hinds Library System is helping students with their summer reading. Kids, teens, and adults can pick up reading logs during the event to track their summer reading minutes.

Officially, the summer reading program kicks off Wednesday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. with the first club meeting and program along with storytime. Prizes, including the legendary Mystery Prize, will be raffled off at the annual finale party on August 3. "Plus, you can win cool prizes", she said in a statement.

Another report claimed the majority of those buying tickets for the film were women , another first for the superhero genre. The film is superhero fun in its simplest form, with its layered and dynamic characters and fast paced action sequences.

Participants must be signed up for only one of the Summer Reading Program session time slots.

This year's program will run an additional four weeks to accommodate summer learning throughout the entire summer.

For children ages three to five who have not attended Kindergarten, there will be sessions each Thursday morning from 10:15 11 a.m. with the exception of the morning of July 6.

Librarian Sherri Lemhouse invites children ages preschool to 14 to participate in the Brownsville Community Library's Summer Reading Program, starting June 18.
