Sleep Apnea Contributed To Actress Carrie Fisher's Death, Coroner Says

"Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher died from sleep apnea and other undetermined factors, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner said in an autopsy report released Friday. Although it has not been specified to the public which drugs Carrie Fisher was using, the report states that the actress was taking "multiple substances".

Although an exact cause could not be pinpointed, it was found that there was a buildup of fatty tissue in the walls of her arteries. She died four days later at a hospital.

Fisher died at age 60 on December 27.

Carrie Fisher left behind one daughter, actress Billie Lourd who is known for her as Chanel #3 in Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens. In January, the coroner listed her cause of death as cardiac arrest.

Her mother, longtime movie star Debbie Reynolds, passed away a day after Fisher's death. He added that his family did not want a coroner's investigation of his sister's death.

Deadlocked Bill Cosby jury instructed to resume deliberations Friday
Constand's lawyer, Dolores Troiani, says only that the jury is "apparently working very hard" to reach agreement on the charges. Bill Cosby leaves the Montgomery County Courthouse during his sexual assault trial, Thursday, June 15, 2017, in Norristown, Pa.

Additionally, he told the site, "I am not shocked that part of her health was affected by drugs", noting prescriptions she took to treat her mental health. He noted that his sister wrote extensively about her drug use, and that numerous drugs she took were prescribed by doctors to try to treat her mental health conditions.

Her bipolar disorder was treated with electroshock therapy and medication.

Todd Fisher thinks that a combination of factors - and behaviors - including Fisher's smoking habit, killed his sister. Her first film role was opposite Warren Beatty in the 1975 hit "Shampoo".

The actress, best known as Star Wars' Princess Leia Organa, suffered a heart attack at the end of a year ago.
