Sens. Susan Collins, Rand Paul express doubts about Senate health care bill

Though an estimate from the Congressional Budget Office won't be released until Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is pushing for a vote this week, before the July 4 recess.

Price reiterated the argument he has made for months, saying the bills under consideration in Congress are only one part of the GOP's health care plan and that HHS will take action on the administration side to lower premiums - which Heller said the Senate's newly revealed bill will not do. But with Democrats unified in opposition, Republicans can lose no more than two votes in their 52-member.

Senate leaders want to hold a vote this week, but pressure is mounting from both outside and inside the GOP conference.

Sen. Susan Collins of ME reiterated her opposition to language blocking federal money for Planned Parenthood, which many Republicans oppose because it provides abortions.

Johnson was one of four senators who said Thursday, hours after the plan became public, that they are "not ready to vote for this bill".

"It's hard for me to see the bill passing this week", Collins told ABC's "This Week". So far, five Republican senators have come out against the measure.

Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., said on CBS' Face the Nation that he was undecided on the bill, as did Sen. "To say we will do a light nip and tuck is immoral". There's no way we should be voting on this next week.

Caroline Pearson, a senior vice president of the consulting firm Avalare Health, said the Senate subsidies would be smaller than Obama's because they're keyed to the cost of a bare-bones plan and because additional help now provided for deductibles and copayments would eventually be discontinued.

McMaster and they will discuss the adminstration's next steps regarding the peace process, or whether to abandon it altogether. The report said Kushner will submit a report of what transpired after his meetings with Netanyahu and Abbas .

Collins said another seven to eight senators including herself remain troubled about the possible Medicaid cuts.

But premiums for those buying insurance on the individual market under Obamacare, as opposed to those getting their insurance through their employer, have risen sharply and many Americans were not able to keep their same doctors or insurance plan as Obama had promised.

"What's driving this is a tax cut that Republicans insisted on of about $700 billion for the wealthiest people in America and the pharmaceutical companies", Durbin told "Fox News Sunday".

Trump said he thinks Republicans in the Senate are doing the best they can to push through the bill.

President Donald Trump says he doesn't think congressional Republicans are "that far off" on passing a health overhaul to replace what he's calling "the dead carcass of Obamacare". "I think we're going to get there", he said.

Appearing on CNN's State of the Union, Republican Ohio Governor John Kasich noted that he is against the bill in its current form, joining with the more moderate GOP voices who feel the legislation would leave too many vulnerable people without health care coverage.

Trump says he believes his majority party is "going to get there".
